HOLY SPIRIT ?
It is clear in the bible through the words of Jesus and the teaching of Paul that the Holy Spirit, the 3rd person of the Trinity was sent to us to help us, to teach us, to guide us, to transform us into a powerful witness and to give us a beautiful language with which we can speak directly to God according to His perfect will as well as pray effectively and unselfishly.
Paul said: "I pray in tongues more than you all"
Paul prayed in tongues A LOT... He knew that speaking in tongues was so powerful and so important that he also strongly warned people in
1 Cor 14:39 "desire earnestly to prophesy and do not forbid to speak with tongues."
If you have been wanting more of God and have never been baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, then this is for you. He comes to fill hungry and humble hearts.
HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT...
As a child of God you need the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who will give you the power to live this new life in Christ, in truth, in holiness and in victory.
It is the will of the Father for you to be filled with His Holy Spirit.
Jesus said in John 14:16,17: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
Luke 11:10,13 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
To receive the Holy Spirit, You do not need to ask and ask or beg the Father, you do not need to wait any longer,
You do not even need to fast or try to be perfect... No you just need to simply ask Father and then receive.
Why? Because according to Acts 2:4, the Holy Spirit was already given and poured on the earth on the day of
Pentecost and it is now to the believer to simply desire, ask and receive. (See also in Acts 8:15,17)
It is so simple, all you have to do is ask to the Father in the Name of Jesus (He is the door and the Key) and believe that you have actually received. If I may, I would like to give you a little bit of instruction before we pray. Of course it is not mandatory, but through the years I have prayed for thousands of persons and I found that this little bit of instruction helps them to simply yield and cooperate with the Holy Spirit in order to start speaking in tongues.
Close your eyes so that you will not be distracted by who and what is around.
Imagine that Jesus is standing in front of you, and laying His hand on you.
Lift up your hands toward the Father, (as a little child who lifts his hands toward his daddy to pick him up, or remember what one does if a gun is put to his back… it is a sign of surrender and abandonment)
Relax, worship God and pray the simple prayer that I will give you.
After the prayer, open your mouth and by faith start to talk… not in English or your mother tongue, but in tongues.
Notice in Acts 2:4, it was not the Holy Spirit who spoke but the believers. The Holy Spirit will fill you, He will help you and give you a divine ability to speak in tongues but it is up to you to open your mouth and start moving your tongue and your lips. The Holy Spirit cannot help you if you do not give Him anything to work with. Like a little child who wants to talk like mommy and daddy… what does he do? He opens his mouth and starts making sounds… and he doesn’t quit, he keeps making some “dadada and tototo’s”.
A few syllables in tongues will bubble up from your spirit to your mouth. These words will not come from your head but your spirit. You will not understand it, but do not worry, you are not supposed to understand these words, for they are spiritual. By faith speak outloud these words. 1 Cor 14:2 et 1 Cor 14:14
Note: If you keep your mouth closed you will not be able to speak in tongues. If you keep speaking in English, you will not speak in tongues because you cannot do the two at the same time.
At this moment the power of God is released in you and you are building yourself up. 1 Cor.14:4
The good news is that you can pray in tongues anywhere and anytime and as much as you want because you can pray in a whisper, or louder if you wish.
It isn’t really important if you feel something or not when you pray to receive Holy Spirit. By faith you simply believe in your heart that you have received because the Word of God promised us and you release your faith by opening your mouth and start talking.
Remember that Faith according to Hebrews 11:1 is to believe in something that you cannot see, feel or perceive through your 5 senses, but because God promised it in His Word, you believe it is true and real. God always honors His Word. (The promises of God are in Him Yes and Amen!
Mark 11:24 Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours. CJB version
So are you ready to ask and receive Holy Spirit and start your new journey and adventure in God?
Heavenly Father, I ask you to fill me with the Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus. I believe that because I ask you, I receive now. I will open my mouth and start to speak in other tongues because Holy Spirit will give me the ability. Holy Spirit, you are welcome in my life and in my heart, because the Word says that I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. Heavenly Father, you are a good “Daddy”… Thank you for filling me with Your Holy Spirit and with power.
A final word:
When receiving the Holy Spirit, you do not just receive power… but you receive a person!
The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Trinity. He is God so I want to encourage you to learn to know Him... you can talk to Him, commune with Him…
2 Cor 13:14 The grace (favor & spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion, sharing together, & participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it).
